India is the World’s Largest Democratic Country and Seventh Largest County by Area. With over 121 crore population India stands on the Second Most Populated Country. From the last few decades India has improved a lot but still there are many things in which India needs a radical change. Here we list 13 things which needs to be implemented or removed in to make 2013 a very happy new year:
1. Capital Punishment for Rapist
The law to give death punishment in the harshest rape cases or to give imprisonment upto 30 years to rape accused must be included in the Indian law.
2. Clean Yamuna
The pollution level in Yamuna River is as high as it becomes a dead drain according to UN report. If our capital will have a clean river, this will definitely increase the beauty and life of the Delhiites and India. We should learn from UK or Spain where Thames and Seine always increase the beauty and the population in these cities is not very low compare to Delhi.
How many ministers and CM’s son, wife, daughter, daughter in law and so on relatives are Ministers, MP and MLA. There is a big list and people can’t stop to vote them. How a good person’s son or brother could be good? This should stop in India if not there will be no difference between a monarchy and democracy.
4. Right to Reject
“Right to Reject” is a proposed voting option in India that would allow voters who support none of the candidates available to them to register an official vote of “none of the above”, which is not currently allowed under India election regulation.
5. Right to recall
Voters should have the right to recall the non-performing MP or MLA who does not support corruption and had performed their duty in rightful manner. Te tenure of the MP and MLA is 5 years but the voters must have the right to recall him and give him a chance to win again from same constituency. Often people don’t know about the candidate history when the candidate is fighting election first time, so this right is must in the biggest democracy.
6. Fuel Pricing
Something should be done for fixing fuel prices. We see hike in fuel prices everyday. Government needs to think of some alternateiv fuel sources like hydrogen, electricity cars etc.
Reservation should be given only to physically handicapped, reservation on the basis of castes and tribe is always misused.
8. Hygienic Food
Unfortunately sanitation and hygiene is severely lacking in India, and can be the cause of many problems and illness for residents as well as visitors.
In the era of Globalisation, India needs fast and reasonably priced internet service to get connected with the outer world. The rates of 3G service in India are too high to afford.
Policeman should be like commando. In India we always can see big fat and pot-bellied cops in India. Police has the duty to help the people but this kind of police force is not capable.
11. Railway toilet
One of the biggest shame and concern for India. India is defame for World biggest open toilet. Railways must look into the matter and at least introduce green toilet in some trains if not all.
India has the second largest road network in the world but the condition of the roads are very bad . However government is doing appreciable work to improve it but a lot more effort is needed.
How a nation like India can develop and grow with only 7-8 hours of electricity in a day. Today every work needs electricity and India must use its nuclear plant to produce electricity because the demand of electricity is arising day by day with increasing population and technology.
There is no way we will get all 13 in the wish list in 2013. But even if we get one, 2013 should be a better year than 2012.
